The most happening battle of the season of march madness “ The Battle of the Blues” which is also the oldest match played between schools, marked the test match for the 134th time, starting on 7th march at SSC grounds where the 3rd day on 9th march made the final day of the encounter.
The test cricket match between the legendary brothers, Royalists and Thomians with a glance of sportsmanship got over with royal college being the winners of the Test match series. With two days followed by rain the third day brought the wisdom to royal cricketers and they did break the record remarking another millstone.
The one day cricket encounter is yet to take place and the brothers would be fighting again on 16th march 2013.
Royal College Colombo defeated St. Thomas’s College Colombo by 7 wickets in the 134th Battle of the Blues played at the SSC ground on Saturday.
Scores: Royal College (260/5 & 66/3) beat St. Thomas’s College (192 & 132)
