PAHANA CEREMONY 2024/2025 , the most honoured ceremony in the school calendar that showcased the pride and excellence of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo -05 was glamorously held on the 14th of March 2024 at the Jeramias Dias Hall under the distinguished patronage of Madam Principal, Mrs. Manomi Senevirathne and Mrs. Thesula Rambodagalla, Attorney-at-Law & Senior Legal Manager at Janashakthi Business Private Limited as the Chief Guest. The prestigious ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Principals of Visakha Vidyalaya, Mrs. Dulani Priyadarshani, who is in charge of the Senior Prefects' Guild , Miss. Jeewana Ariyarathne & Mrs, Prasadini Rathnasiri , Assistant Principals, teachers in Charge of the Senior Prefects' Guild Mrs. Preeni Dias, Mrs. Rathnamali Edirisuriya and Mrs. Sachini De Silva along with the Sectional Heads, Grade Heads and other teachers, cheering students and loving parents of the newly elected Senior Prefects.

Thisarani Nadil Maalagoda was appointed and taken up duties as the Head Prefect of Visakha Vidyalaya for 2024/2025 while Thejanee Nawarathne was selected as the Senior Deputy Head Prefect. Senuthi Gunawardane was the Deputy Head Prefect of Science/Maths Section while Mehansa Samaradiwakara was the Deputy Head Prefect of Art & Commerce Section. The position of Games Captain for 2024/2025 was offered to Mehansa Jayarathne. The Duputy Games Captancies were given to Chamudi Sooriyabandara and Thenuli Dilethma.

Fifty others too were gifted the privilege to wear the gold shiny badges as House Captains, Deputy House Captains and Senior Prefects and a promising new students' leadership was assured followed by taking up oaths to uphold their duties and responsibilities as student leaders.

"Leaders are not born, they are made".

Thus " a Leader is truly the one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way."
